Jamie Morris : More CouchSurfers, Korean BBQ, Galaxy Game : Jamie & CouchSurfer Coreen at Santa Monica Pier

More CouchSurfers, Korean BBQ, Galaxy Game

The guests keep coming... my uncle left on Tuesday and Coreen from France arrived on Thursday morning to surf my couch for four days. She was a pleasure to hang with in Santa Monica, and since she had already spent lots of time in LA, she didn't need a tour guide like most of the others I've hosted. But she's very involved with the CouchSurfing community and introduced me to three new people in the LA area, so that was really cool. She was also a really good guest... she cooked me dinner two nights, cleaned, and helped with laundry! Even after I told her not to! Not only that, but she woke up at 6am with me to go running while I rode my bike at the beach. She just left tonight, but may be back in a few weeks. Now, I'm awaiting the arrival of my next guest... Raquel from Brazil.

Also this weekend, I had some great Korean Barbeque at Park's BBQ in Koreatown, and saw the LA Galaxy game on Saturday night (minus all the good players since they were all playing in World Cup Qualifiers for their national teams). Stupid MLS scheduling.

Jamie Morris : LA, Sequoia, San Fran, PCH : Randy and the Giant Tree
Randy and the Giant Tree
LA, Sequoia, San Fran, PCH

My Uncle Randy from Maine was in town staying with me for some of the past two weeks. During the first days that he was here, we went to the Gerry & the Pacemakers concert on the Santa Monica Pier, saw a couple of bad movies (The Dark Knight and Death Race), ate lots of food, saw Bodyworlds 3 and The Human Body IMAX movie at the California Science Center, went to the beach at Zuma, explored Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Malibu, and Redondo Beach, took some scenic drives around LA, and did a tour of Paramount Studios. Then over Labor Day Weekend, we visited Sequoia National Park, San Francisco, Monterey, and then drove down the Pacific Coast Highway and saw Big Sur, Hearst Castle, Solvang, and Santa Barbara. I think we drove almost 1500 miles. Here are some pictures of the trip.
